Crisis Support UK - EleMental Afloat!We are now able to offer short term respite / crisis support to anyone experiencing mental distress who seeks non-medical approaches to recovery and thriving. Experienced mental health workers, Marion Aslan & Dr Mike Smith will accomodate individuals on a 46ft canal boat, Hamba Kahle (Zulu for "Go Well") and offer intensive 1:1 support.Moored currently in the Midlands, Hamba Kahle provides a safe haven and an opportunity for the individual to take time out. Using The THRIVE Approach and a range of alternative resources, we encourage the person to find their own personal route to recovery and thriving. The owner has 15 years experience of working with the homeless, sex workers and with individuals with drug and alcohol problems. Crisis Support - Colorado, USA EleMental USA Lead, Amy Smith is currently developing an innovative service in Colorado with Dr Mark Foster.Mark is a GP long respected for his human and person centred approaches who recently worked with Amy, Robert Whitaker, Mike and Marion training on alternatives to the medical model.
